Hepatology Outpatient Clinic

This clinic has a history of more than 30 years and is committed to the healthcare of thousands of patients with any liver disease in Crete and the islands of the Southern Aegean Sea. It operates 2-3 times weekly, whereas patients in need of hospitalization or those to undergo any interventional procedure are admitted to the Gastroenterology inpatient clinic. We closely collaborate with the departments of general and interventional radiology, surgery, oncology and pathology. A fibroscan is in place offering non-invasive liver stiffness measurements to rule out cirrhosis.

We participate in many national and international studies. All Gastroenterology Fellows rotate in the Hepatology Clinic to gain experience on liver diseases and Internal Medicine or Pediatrics residents are offered this opportunity as well.
